Take a quick video tour of Renovations By Henning….
When customers come to Renovations by Henning they know they are not only engaging with the current generation – Heather Henning Milner – but a tradition passed on by her father and her grandfather and her great-grandfather.
Founded by Danish immigrant Lars H. Henning in Latimer, Iowa the Henning Family history in the renovation and construction industry is based on core principles: honesty, hard work and integrity. It is from those principles combined with solid Midwestern values that drive each and every Renovation by Henning project to this day.
The story of Henning Family of companies is also the story of America in so many great ways.
Lars was a brick mason by trade, having learned his craft in the traditional ways of European craft guilds. Upon arrival in America he sought out the American dream by starting a small construction business in his adopted hometown of Latimer, Henning Construction quickly gained a reputation as a builder of quality clay tile barns, gymnasiums, grain silos and other buildings within this north central Iowa community.
Lars’ sons, Owen and Wayne, expanded the portfolio of the company to include carpentry and home building. Owen started a division of business specializing in grain handling, drying, storage and milling. By the early 1950s, Henning Construction established itself as a respected regional builder of single family residential housing, light commercial buildings, agricultural confinement buildings and feed mills.
Lars’ grandson, Jeff Henning, became a senior member of the Company’s management staff and expanded Henning Construction’s expertise into the areas of multifamily residential, multistory office buildings, state-of-art livestock confinement facilities, food processing facilities and international construction management.
The fourth generation is represented with both of Jeff’s daughters, Heather Henning Milner and Lisa Henning Beohm working in the family business. Under Jeff Henning’s leadership and with the support of a stable and experienced management and building team, The Henning companies – Henning Construction Company in Iowa and Renovations by Henning in Naples, Florida – is well positioned to meet the construction needs of various industries throughout the world.
Renovations by Henning is widely regarded as among the finest commercial and home renovation and remodeling firms in Florida, if not the entire Southeastern U.S.
The rock solid Midwestern heritage of honestly, hard work and integrity remains embeded in the DNA of the company.

Renovations by Henning has a small feature in the Fall 2014 issue of an international journal dedicated to the building arts.
The current issue of the quarterly, DDC Journal (Design, Develop, Construction Journal), includes a feature on one of Florida’s most prestigious developers, The Ronto Group, and its amazing work at the Twin Eagles Community in North Naples. As part of the feature, Renovations by Henning President Heather Henning Milner gets the chance to praise Ronto for its accomplishments at Twin Eagles.
We have enjoyed being part of the construction team on their clubhouse and amenity projects and congratulate them on the success of Twin Eagles,” Heather explains. “The Henning Group is a family-owned general contractor with 90 years of experience in commercial construction and large residential renovation.”
The DDC Journal highlights in each issue the people and companies “with the vision to build North America” and publishes features about major market segments of the industry: “commercial, industrial, office, mixed-use, government, healthcare, education, retail and residential.”
“We believe that in a time of unparalleled human consumption the combined industries we cover are leading the way in finding solutions to some of the major challenges we face today,” explains the publication. “That’s why we’ll go directly to the source and talk with decision makers whose philosophies are directly applicable across industry in general.”
The kitchen is the heart and epicenter of activity in your home. Investing in kitchen remodeling is one of the best ways to add value to your home and can give you up to 100% return on your investment. Plenty of cabinet and counter space is crucial and adding an island is the way to go, if you have enough space. We also recommend an open floor plan, which combines the kitchen and living areas.
Nobody likes an old and dingy bathroom, so our second recommendation is to update your facilities! There are endless choices of tile combinations in modern or classic styles for remodeling. Don’t forget that a decorative mirror and stylish lighting can enhance the most modest of bathrooms.
Sprucing up your house with a fresh coat of paint is by far the most economical way to breathe new life into your abode. If you’re up to taking on a little more of a project, updating your baseboards, casing and doors can bring your house out of the past and into the future.
We are very excited to share our latest before and after remodeling shots of this 30 year-old villa in Pelican Bay. This unit had not been updated in years and was in need of a facelift for its new owners. High priority was a complete remodel of the master suite and bath as well as the removing the old wet bar from the living room. The photos below show the before and after remodeling
It was cost prohibitive to remove the Mexican tile from the entire house, so it was important to make sure the paint selection complimented the floor.
