“My favorite part (of the beer fest) is after all these months of planning … it all comes to fruition,” said told the Naples Daily News. “People are having fun and it’s a beautiful day.”
The idea for the craft beer festival, Henning Milner told the newspaper, came after she and other Rotarians realized the craft beer industry was rapidly growing in Naples and no one was celebrating that niche in the local economy.
“About four years ago we were talking about doing a fundraiser and we thought, ‘We don’t have any craft beer events in Naples,'” she said to the Daily News. “There are lots of wine events here, but no beer.”
Four festivals, plenty of gallons of beer and thousands of dollars later – all going to Rotary projects here and around the world – the festival has become a highlight of the late winter season calendar. Once again, the 2015 festival was sold out before the gates even opened.
But the festival is not only about beer. It’s also about the food that goes with it. The grand prize winner in the food division was this year a chicken and waffle taco:
